Are you looking for Success In Business?

Do you know that to find success in business all you have to do is:

Move forward in a consistent manner on a consistent basis and

Adjust when necessary?

If you are not moving forward then the Universe or whatever energy you acknowledge can not reciprocate. The Bible tells us that we must ask, seek and knock.  If you don’t then nothing is going to happen.  Start moving and start moving now, if not then you may as well just call it quits.  Stop wasting your time and energy if you are not fully committed to your success, and remember words are cheap and actions are golden!

His dream came to pay his last respects and bid farewell to the man who had never reached out to it.

“Why did you not realize me ?” the dream asked.

“Because I was afraid,” the man said.

The most important point, however, is that it is not enough to read and learn what is here, you have to apply it to your situation.  You might not learn everything from one leader, but you keep learning and compiling information and one day you will have your way of doing business online and you can pass that on to those that come after you.  It is an evolution of success, and it is up to you whether you are going to evolve or not.

Video Marketing Tips

These tips will help you get started in the right direction…

The first thing you want is a plan of attack.  What is it that you are trying to get across to people with your videos.  Maybe you want to help people see why they should join your business opportunity, maybe you want to share some golden nugget of information that will make a difference in their business or their life, or maybe you want to do a series of how to videos.  Of all of these, how to videos will get the most hits because people are searching for help to learn new skills.  So make sure to include some of them in your video campaigns.

Video Marketing Success

1. Try to tell a story through your videos.  It could be a story of your success online or in your primary business.  Keep them engaged and don’t forget to tell them what you told them.

2. Share your video.  The most obvious is of course YouTube, but here is a list of others that would be good to use.  Just go to these sites sign up and load up your video.  Make sure to read the fine print, some places will not allow you to put videos on their sites that promote a business.  Don’t waste your time trying to put something out there thinking that they won’t notice, because eventually they will and when they do they will shut your account down!

The Keyword In This Business Is: Network

This could be your business network or your personal network,

bottom line you need to create a network.

When you are looking at going into a network marketing business there are vital questions you must ask.

• How do you get paid?  Some companies only have a couple of different ways to get paid while others have multiple ways of getting paid.
• When you do get paid?  Is it one time payments or is it recurring/residual income?
• Is the residual paid on people that you sign up as reps or on recurring purchases by clients?
• When you get a percentage of sales, what is the average sales amount and what percentage of that do you get?
• Is the product or service a one time purchase or is it a recurring purchase, and is the product/service something that is relevant?
• Is the product consumable or service renewable?  If not what is the expected life span of the product?

Some More “Network Marketing” Considerations

The more ways of getting paid the more chances you have of making money.  Think about it, if all you get paid for is signing up reps that is going to get old fast!  The “network” part of your business should only be part of it.  The dream of network marketers is to build a business for a given number of years and then you relax and reap the benefits of your labors through residual income.

The question above, concerning where the residual income is coming from is a huge concern here.  It could come from other reps in your down line, from recurring billing of a business, or both.  Without residual income there would be no incentive for working many hours with no pay while you are building for the future.

Another big question concerns the price point of the product and the percentage of which you get to take home.  When you look at a networking company if the product is a one time purchase, it has to be big enough that the pay out is worth it.  Even then, it is hard to build a residual income from any place other than signing up new reps.  Not a good place to be.

If you can find a business that sells a service that people use everyday and one that does not require a change in their behavior, that is better than a product that they can do without or get locally with less effort.  I hope you can see the difference here.

So, another option is business to business sales, again this has to be a product or service that is necessary and not easily gotten from another source.  Such as Mobile Media Marketing.  This option, thankfully, helps reduce the demanding efforts of building your personal network.

So, best case scenario is a product or service with a moderate to high price point, that is consumable or renewable and then combine that with multiple ways of getting paid and you have a winner!

Finally, keep your expectations in check and be aware of changes in the market place and your product sector.

As you can see below there is a constant change in the world of entrepreneurship created by the life cycle of  businesses.

Here’s the average failure rate of all small businesses:

First Year – 85% success
Second Year – 70% success
Third year – 62% success
Fourth Year – 55% success
Fifth Year 50% success
Sixth Year – 47% success
Seventh Year – 44% success
Eighth Year – 41% success
Ninth Year – 38% success
Tenth Year – 35% success

This is not to discourage you, but to make you aware.  Remember nothing ever stays the same, you just have to learn to ride the waves!

I always loved a challenge, so when my business partner Dotti Berry told me about this what could I say? 

So, here we go we are blazing a new trail, one video at a time.  The challenge is to produce a video everyday for 7 weeks.  This is not for the faint of heart, you have to be like the people in the movie Brave Heart!!  This will give you Freedom from your excuses, your reasons for not getting things done.  The road to hell is paved with good intentions, that will not work.

One way to stick to this is to understand that it is not about trying … that word needs to be taken out of your vocabulary.  You are either going to do it or you are not.  If you are seated in a chair, have you ever tried to get up?  Well, that’s right you either get up or you stay seated.  Trying doesn’t do you any good!  I know that we have been told over and over in our lives that we just need to keep trying.  That seems so useless now.  If you think about in light of that, if you just keep trying to do something and nothing changes that is the definition of insanity.

Let’s look at a better way to state it being aware that words have so much power we really need to watch what we say!  If I were wanting to urge someone to not give up, I believe a better way is to ask them questions and help them see for themselves that giving up is not an option.

That is where I stand with this, giving up is not an option!

An old Cherokee told his grandson about a battle that goes on inside all
people.  He said, ‘My son, the battle is  between two ‘wolves’ inside us all.
One is Evil. It is anger, envy,  jealousy, sorrow, regret, greed, arrogance,…
self-pity, guilt, resentment,  inferiority, lies, false pride, superiority, and ego.

The other is Good. It is joy, peace, love, hope, serenity, humility, kindness,
benevolence, empathy, generosity, truth, compassion and faith.

‘Which wolf wins?’ The old Cherokee simply replied, ‘The one you feed.’

Which one are you feeding?  Spend some time today thinking about this and when a situations comes to mind that you are dealing with, ask the question, which wolf is being fed by this and how do I need to change it so that the “good” wolf wins out.

Remember, if you do not like what you see in life, change your perspective, it really is your choice.

So, you think you can make it in this business, but you been doing it for awhile, and have had little success.  Maybe you have been working on your blog or you have been on Facebook and made a few friends.  Well, it is going to take more than that.  It will take a proven technique and a lot of focus.

The only way to make it in this business it to get started on something that is working and then stick with it long enough to see if it works for you.  “Well, what if it doesn’t work and I fail?”  It is not failure it is only feedback.

As Michael J. Gelb says, “Champions know that success is inevitable; that there is no such thing as failure, only feedback. They know that the best way to forecast the future is to create it.”

It does not matter what has happened to you in the past, be it physical or mental, you can  rise above it and move forward.  There is no one holding you back, except for maybe yourself.

We are only here on this planet for a limited amount of time.  Decide what your journey is going to look like.  Maybe it would be beneficial to you to see your life stated in a metaphor:

• Life is a test
• Life is a journey
• Life is an endurance race, a marathon
• Life is a search party (a search for the truth)
• Life is a temporary assignment

The bottom line is if you want to make it in your business there needs to be a vision, a plan of what your life is going to look like 5 years from now!  Draw a line in the sand and start there, and I mean START…  Now take massive action!

Don’t you think it is quite amazing the feeling of total “freak out” that a person feels when they realize that they have lost their phone?  Well, that is nothing compared to the freak out that I felt when I thought that I had lost everything on my blog last week!

When my blog was hacked the idea of losing the central nervous center of my business had the hair on the back of my neck standing on ends.  Luckily for me, I was able to get it fixed and not lose anything, and it was a great relief when all was well with my blog.  Below you will find how I was able to recover from this.

In reference to my freak out, I know there is the whole topic of being in a state of equanimity, where nothing is good or bad, it just is.  Or the idea of being too attached to material items or the outcome of said event, however, that was the furthest thing from my mind and fodder for another post.

So, a little about what happened, last week I got an error message from my AVG virus software saying that they blocked me from my site because it was infected.  So, I said, “Well, fix it.”

As I learned however, that’s not how it works.  To get it fixed you have to go to the source, i.e. your hosting site and have it removed by them.

According to several reports, shared hosting sites such as GoDaddy, Blue Host and DreamHost have had their customer’s open source WordPress blogs hacked.  No private server WordPress installs have reportedly been hit.  GoDaddy said that they were working with their customers to help them get their blogs up and running again, as well as, with authorities to find the source of this hacking.

So, to begin with, here are some suggestions from WordPress.  I like the first statement, STAY CALM, are you kidding me!!  I just lost the main drain of my brain!!!!

• Stay Calm

  • You have to stay calm to be able to deal with this situation. The first step before you respond to any security incident is to calm yourself down to make sure you do not commit any mistakes. We are serious about it.

  Ok, let’s all take a big deep breath.  Now let it out slowly.  As you exhale, feel your shoulders relaxing as you find peace in the moment.  Now repeat after me… My blog is safe, My blog is safe.  Let this feeling seep into the very center of your awareness.  As you are becoming more aware of your blissful state….

Snap out of it and get to work!  

• Scan your local machine.

  • Sometimes the malware was introduced through a compromised desktop system. Make sure you run a full anti-virus/malware scan on your local machine. Some viruses are good at detecting AV software and hiding from them. So maybe try a different one. This advice generally only applies to Windows systems.

• Check with your hosting provider.

  • The hack may have affected more than just your site, especially if you are using shared hosting. It is worth checking with your hosting provider in case they are taking steps or need to. Your hosting provider might also be able to confirm if a hack is an actual hack or a loss of service, for example.

Thirdly, for those of you that use Merge Domains or GoDaddy for your hosting here is a form that you can fill out and send to them so that they can remove the malware from your site.

Lastly, a very important step, that I did not follow the first time, yes, it happened to me twice in 7 days, is to make sure that you change your passwords to your hosting service.  In addition, and this might not be the same for all hosting sites but for Merge Domains and GoDaddy there is also a password that you have for your hosting section of your back office.  That also needs to be changed.  One caveat, do not change your password to your database in your back office or your blog site and the hosting account will not be able to communicate.

Lessons learned:

• Stay calm
• It is only time
• Back up your blog, in case you need to restore it.

It is my sincere hope that you do not have to go through this.  To help make sure that it does not happen to you, if you have not already done it, make sure you have the latest version of WordPress which is 2.9.2.  Then change your passwords to something you have never used before for this account.  If your user name on your blog is admin, you also may want to see about changing that too.
