Mobile Media Marketing
We are all aware of the use of social media to connect businesses and their customers. If you have a business and you have not developed a way for your customers to connect with you, at the very least through Facebook and Twitter, you are behind the times and losing out on those valuable connections. These connections enable you to stay in front of your customers online, where many of them are.

What is SEO?
Posted on November 20th, 2009 View CommentsSearch Engine Optimization is one of the most important aspects of online marketing. In an earlier post I talked about branding yourself online using a blog. Well, if no one ever sees that blog then it is really not very helpful. In addition to your blog, you need to have a webpage or capture page where you can send people to that contain the product or service that you are marketing. Just as you want people to find your blog you also want people to find your marketing website.
There are two ways to help people find your website through Google. … Read the rest of this entry »

The History of Advertising
Posted on November 12th, 2009 View CommentsAdvertising has been a way of sharing ideas and getting the “word out” about products and/or services from the beginning of time, or at least since we have been trying to communicate. The first signs of advertisement can be dated back almost 25,000 year ago on the walls of the caves in the hills of France. These were Stone Age people advertising the hunting prowess to their fellow hunters. Moving ahead in time to Babylon around 3500 B. C., sketches where drawn on soft clay tablets and set with a runner to advertise to the neighboring clans letting them know what they had to trade or other descriptive information.

Different Buying Personalities
Posted on November 2nd, 2009 View CommentsThere are many considerations to think about when you are marketing and selling. It does not matter if you are doing this in a brick and mortar operation or an online business. A major consideration is the buying personalities of your target market.
It is important in any sales situation to be able to figure out which category your potential client is in. There are five categories, as well as many sub categories, but I am only going to talk about the top five.
The first one is the apathetic buyer. This person is completely negative and it does not matter what you say or do they are not going to buy. It is best to figure this one out early, and politely excuse yourself from their presence as soon as possible, no need to waste your time!

Test Your Logic
Posted on August 19th, 2009 View CommentsSay that a women and her dog are standing a mile apart on a sandy beach. They spot each other and start to run in slow motion at 1 MPH. At the same time, a flea that is on the dog’s nose flies at 2 MPH to the woman’s nose, then flies back to the dog’s nose. The flea flies back and forth (losing no time during the turnarounds) until the women and the dog meet. At that time, how far has the flea flown?
