  • Personal Development – Become One With Your Word

Posted on Timeless Kathy Sammons 27 comments

In my blog I talk about internet marketing, debt reduction and personal development.  Today I am adding something about personal development, an area that we should all be active in.

Within each of us is a core belief that our words speak volumes about who we are. Can you honestly say to yourself that you always keep your word?  Do you let yourself slide when you make a commitment to others and yourself.  Do you make up excuses that make you feel better, even though deep down you really don’t feel good about not keeping your word?  It is always so easy to say you will do something and then at the last minute say you’re tired, you don’t have time to do the thing you said you would, you claim that it is unimportant now, and on and on as the excuse train of not following through takes off from the station of your mind, and you justify your decision to not keep your word.

Where do you find yourself not following through on what you say? Can you see a pattern in this behavior? The very fact that you commit to something will set in motion a series of events that will always lead to a fulfillment of a thought, as long as you Become One With Your Word and follow through on what you say.  This is the law of commitment.  Become what it is YOU want to be, and what you want will always be YOU.

This lack of follow through is not an isolated incident, we all do it. The good news is that we all have the power of choice to make the decisions that support us staying in integrity with ourselves and others. It is when you keep your word that the power of being who you are shines through. There is a beauty and magnificence of following through on what you say that sets in motion a creative process that brings forth all the excellence that you are. To be a person of his or her word is one of the most desirable things anyone can do.

Become One With Your Word in all you do and watch as everything around you seems to blossom and grow, because you are watering the garden of your LIFE with integrity, commitment, and an unstoppable determination of success. You are standing up for who you are.

If necessary, I hope that this raises your awareness of your commitment habits.  I am sure that most of us could use some motivation to take a look at how we operate.  I will leave you with a quote, although I am not sure where it came from, I though that it fit this post very well.

“When you keep your word, the doors to all we need to create the life we desire, magically open up because the message the universe hears is one of truth, integrity and a boldness in claiming your destiny… there is a certainty in your presence to become that which you say, that is infectious.”    Author Unknown

I AM a keeper of my word in all I do
I follow through on what I say
The power of my word fuels my journey
I create everything I say through the choices of what I say
I know that I AM blessed with magnificence and excellence
    Today is another great day
I knowingly Become One With MY Word always.

    It’s your day…MAKE IT A GREAT ONE!

      Kathy,
Great post. We are only as good as our word. Life is a lot less stresful when we live up to our word.

      Hey Kathy,
Excellent post. This is an area that many people really don't get. They don't understand that their word is all they have. If they don't follow thru with their commitment, they lose their credibility.

      Very timely & important post.

Being a person of your word is very important in this business. If you do not do what you say you will do your reputation that you spent so much time building can be torn down with one action.

      Hey Kathy,
really enjoyed reading this post…. commitment to things is so huge. I saw a really good video about “touching it once” making a point to take care of things on first contact. I've bee trying to implement that…. and I must say, It feels great! :)

      Kathy,

The “law of commitment” is alive and well, that's for sure. Not only do you get a sense of “well being” from following through, but more good things happens as a result.

      Great post,

“because you are watering the garden of your LIFE with integrity”

As an entrepreneur and a family man myself, these are the words that I share with my kids. This country and the opportunities that we all share were all founded on man (or womAN) keeping their word to their fellow men (or womEN).

      Well said Kathy :)

      Hey Kathy,

      This is an Excellent post!

I would just add that words can be pretty powerful but actions will always speak louder then words. So in other words…I don't pay attention to what people say but more so to what people do.

      Kathy,

Keeping your word shows your character. Would YOU want to follow YOU if you did not keep your word?

      Great post, Kathy.

I think you are right by saying there are people that do not get this. It is unfortunate that they let their desire for their own personal success out weigh their commitment to other people.
      Hope all is well,

      Thanks Yo,
You are right actions speak loader than words, however, if they do not do what they say there are not actions and so the same eventuality occurs and you realize this person is not one that you are going to want to ever have to depend on.
As always thanks for your comments.
